It was the World Music Awards that aired tonight, 12/29, on the "My Network TV" Channel, and Mariah Carey most certainly did mention that L.A. Reid couldn't accept his award tonight because he was paying his last respects at the passing of "Shakira Stewart". I wasn't sure what Shakira's last name is, so I logged on just now to see if the story were true. Still trying to validate.
Yeah it was Shakir Stewart (note the spelling.) He was an exec at Def Jam records, I think.
